What's on in Seaford this weekend (29 Aug – 30 Aug)

A special exhibition at Seaford Museum marking the centenary of the death of Harry Harison Evans, a prolific late nineteenth century Seaford artist. It displays many of his meticulously drawn pen and ink images of Seaford, on show during museum opening hours.

An open painting competition inviting artists to capture the Clergy House and its garden. Available across the competition window during opening hours.

Small-group guided tours and tastings running Thursday to Sunday through the summer season, showing how Rathfinny makes its world-class vintage Sussex Sparkling wines. Runs daily through the season with several departures a day (typically between 10:00 and 18:00 in August, reducing to 12:00 and 14:00 by October). Ages 2 plus; group tours up to 11 people; minimum 4 passengers for the trip to go ahead.

A one hour evening cruise from Newhaven Marina past Seaford Bay to the Seven Sisters cliffs, watching the sunset over the sea. Departure times vary through the season as sunset gets earlier (19:00 in August, 18:30 in early September, 18:00 in late September). You are welcome to bring your own drinks aboard; up to 11 passengers.

A fast, high energy RIB ride from Newhaven Marina along the Sussex coastline to the Seven Sisters cliffs, with music on board and a boat that moves to the rhythm of the waves. A fun, energising way to see the coast for those who want more edge than the classic boat tour. Runs most days through the season with departure times varying by tide.

Five-member covers band Geri and the Attrix play Seaford Con Club — vocals, rhythm, lead bass guitar, drums and keyboard. 7.30pm onwards.

Free, weekly, timed 5k run along Seaford seafront starting at Splash Point. Everyone welcome to run, jog, walk or volunteer.

The Michelin-starred London restaurant Orrery by Pierre Minotti takes over the Rathfinny Tasting Room for a seven-course tasting menu paired with Rathfinny wines. An evening of fine dining overlooking the vineyard. Booking is essential.

A guided 22km cliff-top hike along the Seven Sisters from Seaford to Eastbourne, hiking east to west past the Seaford Martello Tower, Cuckmere Haven, Birling Gap and Beachy Head, finishing along Eastbourne's promenade. Graded hard with 340m of ascent and around 5.5 to 6.5 hours of walking, at a steady pace with breaks for lunch and photos. £36 per person includes the guided hike and return train tickets. The group meets at London Victoria rail station near the ticket office at 08:20, leaving at 08:40 for the 08:54 train, and returns to London at 20:17. Led by Raj, a local trail expert. Bring sturdy boots, water, a packed lunch and weather-appropriate clothing. Walkers are asked to stay at least 5 metres from the unstable cliff edges.
