This scheme provides benefits of improved journey time for buses, upgraded safety for pedestrians and improves visibility for all users. The improvement include: A westbound bus lane on the A259 Seaford Road An enhanced bus interchange area in Mount Road with improved pedestrian facilities A new bus lane exiting from the roundabout at the junction of Avis Road and the A259, designed to assist traffic flow and access to the bus interchange area Street lighting and traffic signal upgrades Carriageway reconstruction and surfacing, including a new bus entrance to the interchange area Footway reconstruction and kerbing Improvements to pedestrian crossings Drainage replacements New bus shelters and Real Time Passenger Information boards
