Climate Fresk Workshop
A collaborative, card-based workshop that teaches the science of climate change through an interactive puzzle format. Developed in 2015 and experienced by over 2 million people worldwide, it suits all levels of prior climate knowledge. Run by Sharing Skills CIC at the Mercread Youth Centre in Seaford.
Friday Walk: Seaford Head (5 miles)
A beautiful 5 mile walk over Seaford Head blending downs and fields, with a shortcut option and stunning views. Includes a coffee stop at Cadence Cafe two thirds of the way round, and well behaved dogs are welcome.

Seaford Town Market is held on the second and fourth Saturday of each month, 10am to 3pm, in Church Street. Up to 26 stalls offer a range of local foods and crafts, preserves, beverages, essentials and treats, all made, produced and created by local people.

Seven Sisters Seaford to Eastbourne: Coast Path Celebration Walk
A strenuous linear Ramblers walk from Seaford Library to Eastbourne Pier via the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head, with a picnic lunch stop at Birling Gap. One of a series of walks celebrating the opening of the King Charles III England Coast Path. Newcomers can join their first three walks free before Ramblers membership is required, and there are several points where the walk can be cut short for a bus back.

Big Butterfly Count 2026 at Seven Sisters
Take part in Butterfly Conservation's nationwide citizen science survey by counting butterflies for 15 minutes in a sunny spot within Seven Sisters Country Park. Pick up a free spotter sheet from the Visitor Centre or use the Big Butterfly Count app. No booking needed, free to join in at any time during the count period.
The Shimmer: A Photography Exhibition by Toby Lamborn
A photography exhibition exploring the historic phenomenon of Chalk Hill Blue butterflies, once so numerous on the South Downs that they created a blue shimmer across the landscape. Visitors can view the show during the opening weekend of the Big Butterfly Count, then head outside to look for Chalk Hill Blues in the park. Free admission, parking charges apply.

Local naturalist Michael Blencowe leads a wildlife survey of Martello Fields to discover what wildlife lives in apparently lifeless recreation grounds. Part of the Seaford Biodiversity Project, this is a hands-on outdoor session welcoming all ages.
Seaford Biodiversity Project: Bird Watching Walk with James Duncan
Part of the Seaford Biodiversity Project launch day. Join James Duncan of the Seaford Natural History Society for a short 2km stroll at Seaford Head Nature Reserve to observe resident birds and potential visiting species. Grassy paths that may be muddy after rain. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Gather near South Hill car park. No dogs permitted.
Seaford Biodiversity Project: Seashore Life with James Duncan
A launch event for the Seaford Biodiversity Project, celebrating the remarkable wildlife found along Seaford's coastline. Join naturalist James Duncan to discover evidence of sea life below the waves and observe the southerly Kittiwake colony on the cliffs if still present. The 2-hour session is suitable for all ages and under-18s are welcome with a parent or guardian. Doors open at 10:45am.
Seaford Biodiversity Project: Recording Nature
A practical outdoor session for beginners led by James Duncan using the iRecord app, teaching how to identify and record local wildlife. Participants should download the iRecord app in advance; suitable for under-18s when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Bishopstone Station Restored Waiting Room Open Day (19 July)
Friends of Bishopstone Station open the newly restored Platform Waiting Room, a heritage room with a permanent exhibition on the history of the Ouse Estuary, including Tide Mills, the wartime Seaplane Station and Bishopstone Station itself. Entry is free, with refreshments and souvenirs available in the main station building.

A sociable 14 mile hike over the Seven Sisters cliffs from Seaford to Eastbourne for lesbian and queer walkers, finishing with drinks near Eastbourne station. The group meets at London Victoria at 08:20 for the 08:54 train, arriving at Seaford station at 10:19 to start the walk.

FREE HIKE: Seven Sisters Cliffs to Cuckmere Haven
A free 12 to 14 mile return hike from Eastbourne to Cuckmere Haven via the Seven Sisters, covering all seven chalk peaks (Haven Brow, Short Brow, Rough Brow, Brass Point, Flagstaff Point, Baileys Hill and Went Hill Brow) before descending to the Cuckmere Haven estuary. Optional swim at Cuckmere Haven.

Two regional textile groups demonstrate a wide range of fibre arts including weaving, spinning, dyeing, tablet weaving, inkle weaving, crochet, embroidery, tapestry weaving, knitting, peg loom, kumihimo and wool preparation. Presented by the East Sussex Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers and the Brighton and Hove Textile Art Group.

CPRE Sussex Countryside Day
CPRE Sussex celebrates 100 years of protecting the countryside with a family day at the Pump Barn. Drop-in craft workshops run 10am to 3pm (clay creatures, summer lanterns, fabric printing with foraged leaves), guided nature and history walks depart at 10:30, 11:30 and 14:00, and a centenary talk with birthday cake rounds off the day from 3pm to 4pm.
